  As the first law firm that established the Low-Carbon Legal Service Department in Shanghai, Jiehua initiated its theoretical studies and practices of low-carbon legal services in early 2008. Jiehua is a leading law firm in the field of environmental protection and new energy, providing comprehensive legal solutions to clients from home and abroad.

“Low-Carbon Legal Services” is a new concept of legal practices introduced by Jiehua against the background of low-carbon economy. It refers to legal services concerning energy conservation and emission reduction. Jiehua’s Low-Carbon Legal Service Department customizes legal solutions based on the differences in the legal characteristics of projects and customers’ needs and aims to provide one-stop, comprehensive and dynamic legal services to our clients.  In terms of theoretical studies, Jiehua has co-published books with Fudan University, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and Shanghai University since 2008. Our major works such as Low Carbon China (2010), Climate Change and Environmental Law: Theory and Practice (2011), Carbon Finance: Legal Theory and Practice (2012) are well received. 

 In terms of legal practices, the Low-Carbon Legal Service Department has been providing professional legal services to nationwide clients across a wide range of sectors. Jiehua law firm has established strategic partnerships with government organizations, law firms, NGOs and corporations in Shanghai, Guizhou, Shandong, Zhejiang, Shanxi and Jiangsu. Jiehua law firm was honored with “China's low carbon environmental protection outstanding contribution unit” in July 2011.
